If you've ever wondered exactly how a gemstone is cut, take a look at this series of pictures.  I took these pictures a couple years ago when cutting a stone.  I was using my old faceting equipment, and used a different cutting order than I normally would so it would show up better in the pictures, but you should get an idea of what is involved in the process.  I will try to get some new pictures with my new equipment sometime soon and update this page.
